Presentation

Oral presentation (general lectures only); approx. 45 lectures; lecture time 20 minutes, Q&A period 5 minutes, visuals limited to PowerPoint liquid crystal projector images; and poster presentations (short presentations with plans to use pdf files).
When making your application please take note of the following:

  • The presentation must not have been made at the Symposium in the past, and must be of a coherent nature (roughly equivalent to a publishable academic paper).
  • One lecture topic (including oral and poster presentation) per research laboratory. When one laboratory wishes to make two or more presentations, the representative of the laboratory is to mail a letter stating the reasons for doing so to the Steering Committee)
  • We only have a limited number of openings for oral presentations. The Steering Committee will decide whether to accept or reject applications, and will also decide on the presentation format.
  • We welcome oral and poster presentations made in English (you will be asked to choose a language when you make your application). However, Q&A sessions between Japanese presenters and participants will be in Japanese only as a general rule. The lecture abstract manuscript is to be 5 pages of Japanese and 1 page of English as in previous years. For non-Japanese nationals applying from overseas, the manuscript is to be between 2 and 6 pages in English.
(Please note that we are also planning to digitize the summaries of the presentations made at the 53rd and subsequent Symposiums. You will therefore be asked to agree that "the copyright to the summary of the lecture presented at the Symposium is the property of the Symposium on the Chemistry of Natural Products Digitizing Committee.")
